We returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon with a deserved 3-1 victory over AFC Blackpool at Valley Road.

After an even opening, we took the lead on 31 minutes when Jacob Ngoy finished well to put us in front. We controlled large spells of the first half and went into the break with a deserved 1-0 lead.

We continued to press after the restart and doubled our advantage on 70 minutes, with Ngoy grabbing his second goal of the afternoon. Just four minutes later, Lewis Byrne added a third, giving us a commanding lead with just over 15 minutes remaining.

The visitors pulled a goal back through Blessing Igharo on 84 minutes, but we managed the closing stages well to see out the game and claim all three points.

It was a composed team performance, with plenty of possession, good control in midfield and a clinical edge in front of goal.

A superb display from Jacob at both ends of the pitch. Solid defensively throughout and capped off his performance with two well-taken goals to help secure all three points.
